Li Qiao, Peking Opera Singer

Li Qiao is a Peking Opera performing artist lives in the United States. She graduated from the highest honored class of the China Academy of Drama and later became the pillar of the Peking Opera Company in Yunnan Province. She has won numerous national, provincial and municipal awards such as the National Young Peking Opera Best Performance Award.

 

In 2001, she was a guest performer at the Oscars, a special guest performer for the movie "Hidden Dragon and Crouching Tiger". In 2011, she performed at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in the United States in honor of Peking Opera master Mei Lanfang. In 1991, she won the Outstanding Performance Award in the China Peking Opera Performers Invitational Competition and won the first prize in the Yunnan Provincial Opera Grand Prix many times.
