Performers' Profile

CASEC New Star Chinese Arts Troupe

​

​

New Star Chinese Arts Troupe was established in 2009 and currently has more than 20 members. It has a Swan Dance Team and a Sunshine traditional instrument ensemble. The group performs around 20 shows annually.

 

Their mission is to promote and share Chinese culture through performing arts. They strengthen the connections between various Chinese communities and American organizations through stage performances. The troupe is very popular among with both the local Chinese and American communities in South Florida. Their dance team has performed dances with various styles, including the umbrella dance "Human World Smoke and Fire," the fan dance "Drunken Spring Breeze," "The Year the Flowers Bloomed and the Moon Was Full," the lantern dance "Opening the Door to Red," the Mongolian dance "Roping the Horse," the classical dance "Fireworks in March," and many more. They are a vibrant force on both CASEC’s performing stage and South Florida's dance scene, participating in performances at CASEC Lunar New Year event and Nova University Lunar New Year event every year.
